The part in the diagram is not on my car?

Having removed the intake manifold twice now to try and chase down my mysterious fuel leak, I have noticed that there is a ball that appears it should have a socket attached to it but does not. See #89 in the pic below - it is listed as "dashpot control" on the Russian site - there is no rod connected to the ball on my car. Should there be one there? What does it connect to? So many questions.

Which car?

Dashpot would have something to do with transmission control. Is this on the 95? I'm looking at the USA version 606.910 diagram for that assembly on EPC and that rod isn't pictured. Maybe the diagram on the Russian site is for a non-US version?

Oh, sorry gang. The car is my '95. Here is a link to the picture, not sure why the first one isn't showing.

Part is #89 in the picture.

Part is #89 in the picture.

I can see the pic in the thread, actually, maybe it's other's browsers. In the EPC the pic is exactly the same, but doesn't have the #89 rod. So it may be a setup different from your car.

Look to the far rignt and you will see *141 when you go to the bottom of the page it tells you "*414 The old part must no longer be installed."

Sometimes the notation will refer you to the bottom of the page and they will give ranges of Engine numbers or chassie numbers concerning the part.

Another thing I see is the pics will have parts but when you look up the Item Number on the parts list it is not there. I have taken this to mean that on the vehicle I looked up that part is not used.

I would not worry about the "missing" part; as others have surmised, it is probably for a version of your engine used in some other car/model/country.

Ahh, so right you are. I didn't even realize there were footnotes there. Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

Good call, thanks for the help folks. Glad that it isn't something that is missing, but it wouldn't be the first thing I found missing on this car.
