What size socket do I need to remove the fuel injector on a 83 240D?

27 mm deep socket, or 1 1/16" deep socket. Craftsman socket does work and will not interfere or bend the return hose fittings.

Mine is a 1-1/16" deep socket from Advance Auto, cheap and clears the return hose barbs as well.

Below is a pic of the 1-1/16 Craftsman socket I have used on Injectors since 1975.
Whoevers socket you buy besure it is deep the entire usable length of the socket so it does not bend the Return Hose Barbs.

I bought a 27 mm deep socket from the local auto store a few years ago to do my injectors. I forget how much it cost but remember it was reasonably priced. I just used it to rotate the crank (bolt also 27 mm) to do the valves.
