Quick clutch bleeding question!

My slave will be here tomorrow. I have read all the post and think I know the bleed procedure. I have one question. When everyone says right front caliper to slave, is this the passenger or drivers caliper? (could be sitting in the car or looking at the car from front) Thanks in advance!!!

Right front would be the Passengers side.

Right/left on a car always determined from the point of view of someone sitting in the driver's seat.
Same as right/left on a river.

Sorry for that but thanks!!! I thought right was looking at the car from front. Because it would be the drivers caliper you would use because it is closest to the master and I would have been wrong.

I made a cheap reverse bleeder from an old style oil can , the type with the thumb plunger on it . I dont know the name for it but we used it in the machine shop for oiling the lathes. has a screw off cap and a long snout.

Fill it with brake fluid connect a clear line thats snug on slave fitting , snout is tapered so it pushes right on. (line came from vacuum pump kit )

Pump until line is full

connect to slave cylinder and crack line

Pump a few times (have someone watch resevoir if its pretty full )

Tighten fitting on slave

Plug line on your new contraption (golf tee , bolt )

test

didn't expect that on a german car forum

Oddly enough, my slave is due here today as well. It's veteran's day and us gov't employees have the day off. It's supposed to be 50 here in MI so I know what I'm doing.....

Hope it's coming via UPS or Fedex....have fun with it. Cold brake fluid in the eye can't feel very good.

Yeah, the wife got concerned when she saw that I had a slave coming in the mail. (a little jealous) Now she knows it is for the car and doesn't care. I am going to try the oil can method!! Thanks for taking the time to share that because I do have one of those old oil cans. My grandfather gave me one from his shop many years ago. I will post how it goes.

ERGH it was shipped via USPS and I must have checked the mail like three times yesterday until I realized that the mail people have the day off, too.

I did spend my day off working on my Norton AHRMA Sportsman 750 motorcycle, and that was just as fun, if not better than brake fluid in the eye.

Nope, there is nothing more fun than bleeding a 220/240D clutch. Not even a root canal....

My 240D clutch didn't give me any problems when I bled it . . . maybe I did it wrong!
