Rear end importance
Another consideration is a lot of the laser alignment machine use the rear tires/axle as the reference point. If the rear end is not plumb/straight, the front end won't track right.
I remember being behind a pickup where the rear axle was visually not straight, and the truck drove down the street trying to crab. Hammerwerfer
