Ok, lots to report!

It seems the vac feed line for key PSI and the cabin vent were reveresed. Put that back to normal and now it shuts off like a dream!

When I connect the pump to the system now, it will pump up to 12PSI and then slowly bleed down, about 7-8 secs or so. When I open the rack it falls right off and yes, can't build it back up.

Also, changed the trans pan gasket and fixed that massive leak.

Making progress!!!!

Kickdown cable should fix the shifting?

Well, turns out that the vac bleed is coming from somewhere in the lock system. I capped that line off, and it runs and shifts like a champ!

What a day: got vac system nearly fixed (at least straightened out), got trans pan/filter changed, put 4 new exhaust hangers on, got Odo fixed, got shutdown issue resolved... plus some other stuff I'm forgetting...

Need to get the drivers seat fixed, headliner fixed, door locks fixed, put on new hood ornament, fix stereo, fix strong pull to right under braking, trans shift linkage, and probably 10 more things I haven't found yet...

Good job. You've got quite a neglected baby there............but with some TLC, it sounds like it'll work out for you.

Door lock leaks on the 123 can kill the shift characteristics. Do a search on the door locks............lots of info on how to find and fix the leaks.

So, it seems that even with the door locks capped off, there is still a slow leak in the system, and it seems like the VCV. It bleeds off after a few seconds. Is that a rebuild-able part or replace it?

Got the leak on the exhaust welded up today. It was in the short L piece coming from the turbo down. That was a dirty job...

You'll need to explain the method of testing that you used and where it bleeds off........and what was utilized as the supply vacuum for the test.

I just tried to see if the VCV on my SD would bleed down, I am getting 20 Hg from the first nipple (closest to the vac pump, red highlight) and nothing from the second nipple (green highlight).
So I can't replicate this test. Shifts okay, mostly.
Any ideas. thoughts?
The vac sticky isn't currently working, any idea what the red with gray stripe line goes to? HVAC seems to work.
