That is Ponton, most likely a w120 180D. Thats my next MB project, that or a 190D of the same era.

I nearly bought one of those three years ago, but the body rust was so bad there was no way I could save the car. It's one of those things that if you buy one, you need another for parts just to keep the first one running.

You also must remember that the 180D was made for city taxi work in Europe, so it does driver faster than walking but just barely. The engine blows up at 63 mph. 0-60 is, no kidding, 27 seconds!

The 190D with the OHC engine is very reliable and a lot faster. max speed 75, but 0-60 in 14 seconds. These in the fintail style don't rust.


I am looking for a 180D engine trans and shift linkage.
