Window Power

I am stumped. On the center console with the window switches, It has not set in place correctly since I have owned the car. Can some one tell me 2 things,

1. Is ther a main power line that supplies that console with power for the windows? They work sometimes then i hit a pot hole and then they dont work.

2. How does one remove and install said console with out breaking it? It looks like the back is not latched in correctly(probably from the trans r and r before i bought it)

Thanks

You might do well to check your Fuses to see if they are making good contact.

you should tell us your model / year etc...

But if you have a vehicle before '86:

-- remove the ashtray from its holder.

-- you will see 2 screws behind it, remove them and remove the holder by disconnecting the electrical connection on the driver's side and pulling it out.

-- the rest is left to 'persuading' the wooden trim out without breaking it. Pull away from the dash after prying one side up and moving the transmission selector back.

Thanks
1) Remove the ashtray.
2) Remove the sliding housing of the ashtray (2 Phillips screws)
3) Remove the plastic coin bin directly in front of the console.
4) SLIDE the console forward about 1/2" until the two engagement hooks disengage.
5) Lift the console upward and unplug everything from underneath.
