That at least can be relatively easily removed. When it's painted on, like on my late 240D it's hell to get off. And even worse if it's a metallic finish.

Sometimes I wish I could go back in time to the early 80s and see what it was like. Especially when my car was brand new shipped out on June 5th 1985. It's sad knowing I will never see what one of these cars looked like back when it still had that new car smell.
If you're ever down around Philly and want to "take a whiff", and a step back in time- drop me a line...at 30,000 miles, my 240D still looks and smells exactly as it did on the showroom floor in '83.

we would need to see pics and be sent jars of this smell in the mail (you can bottle it up and send it to us express mail) to prove this point.

any car that's been driven 30K miles and has been around 30+ years will never look or smell like it did in the showroom floor...except in the mind of the proud owner

.

Beautiful car !!! Well cared for You can give the one in mercedes enthusiast competition .

I too have a Zebrano shift knob and to think I was calling it wood ! When you get one you'll notice about 2 inches of thread under it I found that you can adjust it so you dont have to lift your arm off the rest to shift comfortably Can you say pass the grey poupon !

Found a good supply of leather shift boots all colors . Go to goodwill look for the leather skirts. preferably take your wife along or you get stared at ! Some assembly required.

I made this adapter shaft so I could use a 2" EMPI aluminum ball on mine.
