New BMW Diesel
First the 3 series and now the 5
http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/11/24/new-bmw-5-series-has-hints-of-the-7-series/?ref=automobiles 245hp for an in-line six sounds pretty good to me. Now if Honda would just offer its damn diesels on the US along with its sweet wagon, sorry tourer. http://www.honda.co.uk/cars/ |

I think BMW's are great. The 535d here is a straight 6 (Timing CHAIN, BMW havent used a belt since about 1992) with 286hp.
My mum has a 'tuned down' version with a straight 6 putting out 224hp, and that thing is fast.

Is that the same gas engine as the X5? I've considered pickin one up for winter use (ski car, etc.).

I'm not talking about a gas engine. This is 286hp from a Diesel 3 litre straight 6.

I personally drool over the Hilux 2.4D. Unbelievably long lasting if the rust doesn't get to it. Top gear took a pair of these to the north pole and back, talk about cold weather starting! I think Honda and Toyota have execellent diesel technology but aren't willing to conform to U.S. emissions standards.

For the same money you can get a loaded to the gills late model Denali or Suburban, and not have to worry about anything other than oil changes and fuel.
