No nut on bottom of fuel sending unit

Good Evening,

I just pulled my fuel sending unit and expected to see a little nut on the bottom to take it apart. The bottom of my unit is flat plastic with a raised round part in the center. Its completely round, not shaped where you can use any kind of tool to loosen it. Is there another way to get it apart? Thanks.

I call it the "plastic nut". Use a needlenose.

It is brass with a plastic cover kind of like the glove box nuts on the hinge. Grab the whole thing with a pair of pliers and unscrew it (the plastic piece in the center that is).

There is a little nut there that has two notches in it. You need a pair of needle nose pliers to get it out. Some times the notches are covered in good.

Bouncin nut..

Yeah...I wasn't thinking when I took off mine and spent a half hour trying to find that little sucker after it bounced across my kitchen floor...

Careful when taking it apart...the wires inside are fragile and there's no doubt a diesel ooze comin your way when you get it apart

Use a needle nose pliers on a pad of paper towels
