gorilla knob question?

I upgraded to pencil plugs. When I glow with the gorilla knob in the glow position the light comes on after about 20 sec. then goes out is this normal? I would think the light would glow until I pulled to start. It stayed on with the old loop style so I think I have a problem.

You don't need to glow those plugs for that long unless its really cold. 5-10 seconds is fine.

I thought the "salt shaker" glow light was supposed to be eliminated when converting to pencil plugs.

There's not as much resistance in the pencil plugs hence the salt shaker wont glow. I'm guessing that resistance increases as the plugs get hotter, causing the salt shaker to glow momentarily. I don't think you have a problem.

Yes, it is. Ideally you don't want the salt shaker in series with the GPs once you change to the parallel pencil type plugs (although it does double as the GP fuse). You ought to bypass the salt shaker and put an 80A GP fuse inline which would maximize the amount of current they receive.
