no, I've not checked them, a force of habit I cycle them 2 times... but I'll look into them, It wouldnt surprise me if one or a few broke.

I read on some site that leaky injectors, burned a hole in a piston. This was a om 616. Next time mine are rebuilt I'd like to go with the highest setting. It's supposed to be great for biofuels.

I would think the only way for diesel to pool in the cylinder is a timing problem, but pull and test 'em.
You may have a glow plug issue, have you checked them?

GPs are a strong possibility. When they are on the test bench, I leak test them after pop pressure and pattern tests. There could be a leak but it would need to be enough to make them loose some prime after shut down. It's not common but one or two injectors in a whole set isn't out of the question. BUT watch out everybody, Kent B. will put this on one of his 'special laminated manuals' copyrighted from "the source" and we'll be expected to pay for it :P.

YES, leakers can melt pistons and other things.

NOT my photo. To: the fellow forum member who posted this - THANK YOU, I don't recall at this time who but it's a good lesson.
Go to post #21 and see the photo.

Could one of my injectors be leaking and having diesel pool in the cylinder? I plan on replacing them all and the heat shields January or February.. as this month is motor mounts, motor shocks and a valve adjustment

An Injector that the Nozzle Seat was so bad it leaked all the Fuel out while your car was parked would also work poorly after starting.
And, a pool of Diesel on top of your piston at the very least would cause some severe knocking when you start up.
There would also be smoke.
