Alert for 190d (W201) fuel sending unit
Afternoon,
Guess what? There is no nut on the bottom of the fuel sending unit. When I got it out of the tank I immediately looked at the bottom for the nut to take it apart. The only thing down there was a protruding round plastic point in the center of the cylinder. I just could not figure it out. Then, while staring at the cylinder I noticed, about 2 inches from the top, some kind of collar around the cylinder. I started putting pressure on it and pulled it down. After that it was easy to pull the internal parts out. It was pretty dirty. Even after doing that & cleaning my fuel strainer I still don't have as much power as I did about a week ago. I guess I'll try to figure out some way to see if air is being sucked in the line at some point. Hope this helps. Hugh Sr 1984 190d (W201) |
