What happens when you press the sunroof button? Any sounds?

It could be a fuse or switch.

But i guess 6500 is ok even if the sunroof doesn't work.

I haven't played with it yet, but he said nothing happens when you press the switch. I looked over the DIY sunroof directions, looks very similar to the sunroof remove and repair I've done on my RX-7's, so I should be able to do that if the need arises.

I do not buy into the depreciation bit, as if you keep a vehicle until the full utility is extracted, the car owes nothing, and youve gotten more out of it than put in.

That said, one does need to assume that a vehicle will always be worth less than you pay for it.

I too pay for full records. But one must recognize that a nice quality 27 year old car is not the world's most liquid asset, no matter how you look at it.

I adhere to this logic, if I were buying a car to sit in a garage or a museum I may be worried about depreciation, but this sucker getting bought to be driven!

I didn't buy it, turns out the guy wanted 7500 not 6500 which was a little out of my price range. Tach didn't work, center console wood was trashed and the rubber on the doors had some dry rot oh cruise control didn't work either.

All in all just a little too much for me I'll keep looking.

Was it white? I talked to a guy at advantage Ford with a nice white CD a few weeks ago. I don't see too many W123s in our area.

edit: I'm in Palm City.

Too bad you lost it, but seems pricy for what it is. Some people seem to think their cars have gold platting on them

I migh have my numbers off here some, but seems like 15,000 Coups were made total, and of that amount 7500 were Diesels. so not a lot of them out there. they are a little more on the high end of the scale price wise. on the other hand, they are just as old as the 300D of the same age.
The herd is thinning down as time goes on though.

I have seen about 8 at the PNP`s the past couple of years. now long gone.

From the dash board forward, they are the same as a 300D, but from there to the rear, things are Coupe specific.

I was looking at one in Carson City, Nv this past Oct. guy had it on a consignment lot. original price was $3750, then down to $2650. blue silver, blue interior in good shape, no rust or signs of damage. It was 90,000 and something, or 119,000 don`t remember.. but went back the next day and it was gone. Did need tires, window rubber and a windshield.

Keep on looking for a clean 300CD... like what others said, rust is the main factor and certainly the rubber seals... you can spend easily over 2K just replacing nearly all of them. Been there, done that

It would be nice if 300CDs routinely got the 33MPG EPA rating. My 300CD is the only car that I do not handily beat the EPA ratings - and that is the old ones, not the newer ones that have a 10% drop.
