Mobil 1 TDT 16.13/gal

Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5w40 Synthetic is available to those in the Meijer territory on sale @ $18.98 per gallon. The kind young clerk at the checkout added the "senior discount" available today & tomorrow for an additional 15% off. Net price = $16.13 :)

That's very good, I usually get it at a walmart that stocks it for $22/gal. They were out this week so I ended up paying $7/qt at the Checker Auto Parts.

Hmmm......18.98 is pretty good.

But, at Autozone I can get my Rotella 5w40 for 19.99 a gallon....and every 6th gallon is free (due to the rewards card)....so getting six gallons for the price of 5 works out to $16.65 a gallon....still cheaper in the long run.

Plus, I could swear my engine was "louder" when I was running TDT in it....(which I did for about 15-20k)....the last 45k or so I have been on Rotella....and it runs perfect.

I do my changes every 4,000 to 4,500 miles....so the type of oil I use is probably less important.....cost is though, as I am using like 10-12 gallons a year just for my car.....and another 4 for the 300E.

I drove mine about 50K miles this year with 5K oil changes, so that's about 20 gallons of oil at about $22 each, plus 10 filters at about $15 each; about $590 worth of oil changes.

What type of filter do you use? I am now out of Frams and am looking to find a better option. I am probably going to order a case of Baldwin filters....but I'm not sure.

I'm currently driving about 22-23k a year total....and the 300E drives around 9-10k a year.

I usually just drop buy the dealer or my indy when I need one (usually a Mann). If I'm ordering stuff here, I usually add a couple of filters to the order. I haven't planned ahead enough to order a case, but I probably should. What's the unit price if you buy a case?

They work out to just under $13 each on www.bfwebexpress.com when you buy them a case at a time. Filter Part Number: P102

They have excellent filtration compared to all the others, so I think I think they are a good buy.

I also like that they are Made in USA instead of India etc....

can you give basis that the baldwin filters better? It absolutely matches the specs for the MB 616/617 filter? It looks different than the typical design...

I get the bosch filters on **********.com for pretty cheap.

I buy my Rotella at Autozone as well for $20 which is the cheapest I have found (suprisingly even cheaper than the farm supply which has other oils cheaper than most auto chain stores). I didn't know about the rewards card. I'm coming close to oil changes for both the burb and the SD soon. That is 4 gallons right there. I'm signing up for the rewards card. Thanks for the tip! :)

It is a competitor with this website. This website pays/sponsors this forum. Thus they have the right to censor competitors since we can buy the same parts here.

I rarely go to Walmart. Last time I was in there they didn't have either Rotella Syn or M1 TDT. It seems every Walmart is different and I don't go to them enough to find one that carries it.

They do not have the cotton gin waste bypass section on top, instead they have an additional pleated paper section. The micron ratings for the filter a much lower than any of the other ones out there.
