w116 vs w123 radiators

A friend cracked his w116 1979 300sd radiator.
Will a w123 turbo radiator fit in its place?
Thanks

I thought all the 116 radiators were brass.

Take pics of the bad one and have 'em handy when you visit the yard, compare side by side. The top of the 123 radiators are plastic. It'll have the oil and transmission fluid coolers on it too.

europower, where are you located? I have a radiator from a 116 (80 300SD) sitting in my garage. I'm in Minnesota. PM me if you are interested.

I wonder if anyone has followed up on having a prototype aluminum radiator production run done. I used to do IT/ cataloging for a major racing radiator fab outfit here in Michigan, and it would be very feasible to do if there were a market for it.
