Are these Euro's?

Found them for sale and they are being sold as euros. Don't look like them to me. Am I wrong?

You are correct.

compu_85 12-07-2009 08:25 AM

Those are early round euros. Notice how it says H4 on the lens.

My eyes aren't good enough to see the "H4" but that proves they ARE Euro's?

100% euro lamps, older style and typically seen on 123 models below the 280-series.

The metal clips holding the (glass) lens to the back are another give away, as is the stone chip below the fog lamp on the one fixture.

Thanks guys, I knew I'd get the answer here!

Some actually prefer those over the square w123 Euro lights, like my friend on his nice 240D w/ Enkei rims. Either way those are authentic, yes. He took the glass panels off and restored the plastic surround. Unfortunately the reflectors need to be replaced, which I think are harder to do on the round type (correct me if I'm wrong).

The fog light reflector is easy to remove. I haven't attempted to remove the main reflector, but I think it's as easy as the fog light reflector's removal is, as long as it's not the vacuum adjustable type. Also, the reflectors themselves are hard to find, especially for the Hella units.

:inquisiti Wow even after squinting and trying to find it I can't see the H4. You've got great eyes and an even better computer monitor.

compu_85 12-07-2009 05:05 PM

Ok, I kind of fudged on the H4 label.... you can see there is something there, I knew it said H4, and I also knew sealed beam lights don't have any "text" there. :o

I have been looking for a set of those. They are hard to find.

Did you pick them up?

okyoureabeast 12-07-2009 06:50 PM

I too have been looking for a pair like those.

Someone in another thread mentioned he fitted in some airplane landing lights and called them "DAS UBER LIGHTS"! I forget who did it, but I just want the clear head light look instead of the amber fogs.

I would love some blinding lights though :P

One thing nice about these is they look like the US DOT lights but are actually European, and they are not replicated by aftermarket companies like Depo so you're almost guaranteed it's authentic W123 Bosch/Hella European lights. I said "almost" because from what I've seen so far I have not seen any aftermarket round w123 Euro lights, but I am not actively seeking those so I do not know if there are truly any aftermarket units out there.

Exactly.... You keep "the look". But, you have a glass lens all the way across. No stupid plastic "headlight door" to crack.

Plus, you can replace the bulbs and they throw out a hell of a lot more light.
