Does my 606 have a primer-pump?

Guys, I have a 95 E300 and I just changed all the plastic fuel lines, pre-heater and gasket, and both fuel filters. Now I can't seem to get fuel going to her to start. I see through the plastic fuel lines that some fuel is coming through along with air (bubbles) I was wondering on my fuel pump there was a manual primer pump or button I can push to feed the injector pump fuel?

Thanks - Toby

You do not have a primer pump. 603s do not either.

Hi Toby,

No primer pump just twist the key, crank for 10 sec, rest for 30, repeat... I've heard that nose down is better for priming too.

If you've run it out of fuel or changed the fuel filter, it helps to fill the large fuel filter with fuel to save some cranking.

Thanks - I got that advice, after I installed it! I guess I could easily remove it again and fill with fuel. Thanks for the nose down tip as well, much appreciated.

If you haven't followed the advice on the other forum, you should....;) And dont forget to fill the prefilter too. You did get the new oring for the prefilter installed, right? The one you have to order separately?

Hey TM - good to see you on here as well! Well I'm officially scared now as I don't remember putting a new o-ring on the pre-filter as I don't remember seeing one on the old one. I do in fact have some o-rings that came with all my parts in the bag still and perhaps that's where one of them goes, I did not see one at all on the one I removed, maybe I missed it?

Aw man, I see one in the illustration now...I'll be home in a minute and I'll check. Thanks!

It would not be the first time someone overlooked that one on the inside rim of the prefilter and threw it away and had to go dumpster diving.

W/O that one, you'll never get it primed as it is on the suction side of the fuel delivery (lines 1-3). http://bp3.blogger.com/_p71v9ofBM6w/R5ZR4hrNUFI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/XCBQ40qtPDQ/s1600-h/fuelflow.JPG

The link I sent you previously has the size of that oring listed; the dealer will have it in stock too. Is only a couple of bucks.
