Yeah, I'm not sure what all the talk and thought is on revs, it doesn't matter. The trans is just dividing up the revs to usable power between zero and top end. And in this case with an overdrive past top end. If the splits between gears are close to that of the diesel there will be no issue"once it is installed correctly". If the splits are differnt that will make a difference. 3rd gear on a gasser is sometimes flat as far as in the power band. Thanks

Maybe I am missing something, but couldn't you just change the rear diff ratio to put the engine in the desired rpm range?
