Oil pan help 190d W201

Good What a rainy night,

I've spent some time searching for information on removing my oil pan to put on another gasket. She's a 1984 190d. I just could not find anything on this model. In the past I have read that it's a little different on this model. Any body know where I can get some instructions on how to do this? Thanks.

Merry Christmas,

Hugh Sr

Prepare to either pull the engine or jack it up off the mounts to be able to slide the pan out. FSM gives a detailed procedure. Might want to reconsider, since you also have to remove the oil pump in order to get it out using the engine jacking method.

How bad is it leaking?

It's leaking enough to want to clean up the garage. What is a FSM?

Factory Service Manual.

I would be certain it is the pan gasket. When I first got my car, it was leaking and got under it thinking it was the pan gasket. Turned out to be the belt tensioner pin connection in the timing cover. The tensioner was just flopping loose in that hole slinging oil everywhere. I have since rebuilt the entire top end and the original pan gasket is leak-free.
