turbo waste gate hose disconect???
 

1981 300td picked it up a couple months ago... When i did the hose between the compressor of the turbo and the waste gate was disconected.

in this state (hose disconected )
1. does this mean that the car was running at full bost all the time?
2. does it mean that bost was increased and if so to possible damaging levels?

Premature wear or death of the turbo. Nothing to get overly excited about if you fix the hose and the turbo spools.

Not if the overboost protection circuit was working. Plus, the disconnected hose would vent a substantial amount of excess pressure.

The fuel pump doesnt really put out enough fuel to cause permanent damage to the engine. The turbo, overspinning, will cause premature wear/death.
