Check the throttle linkages too for the sudden shifting at high speeds. High speeds means pedal depressed some more, if the linkages are adjusted to be that sensitive it will think it needs to shift and it does.

I would also try unplugging the kick down switch under accelerator pedal and see if your shifting issues change.

I looked at the CL ad for that car- and I always laugh when I see w126 diesels with body effects... you scored however! Nice buy.

Personally I don't think the kit looks bad at all. It looks different than a stock car without one, but it doesn't look bad at all.

But then I'm not a purist by anybody's definition...

I didn't like any of the 1980's "body kits". Some of them were truly awful looking. But it's a personal preference.

However! Having different color bumpers at each end is WRONG!

Actually I agree with others, it's a great looking car for $400. Nice wheels.
