no wipers
Alright, im trying ot diagnose the wiper malfunction in my 83 300D.
i pulled out the original switch and found somehting like 200 ohms on the intermitent, low, and high speed switching positions. I ordered a used one that speced out at about 1 or 2 ohms on all speeds. The wipers still will not move. I check for voltage on the plug on the harness side, and i only get 1-2 volts. I believe this should be giving 12 volts. Where else should i look, and what kind of voltage should this switch giving? Also, my motor harness has been disconnected from the plastic holder. could anyone verify which wires (colors) should be on which socket in the plug? Andrew |

Was the fuse ever checked? Also , there is a metal box similiar to the cruise amp, but futher up into the dash area that can be the culprit.

i am getting power to the wipers, just not enough, so i am assuming the fuse is good, but now that i think about it, there may be corrosion on it. that is what i will check next. I have heard of that intermitent box, but i thought that would only affect the intermitent operation, not low or high?
