On a 603, a *massive* increase in get-up-and-go ability. 617s, not so much. Mine went from being fairly anemic to dropping black smoke if you full-throttle it and taking off like a shot at half throttle.

Same effect as adjusting it all the way "out" and then reinstalling it, essentially -- except it eliminates one more item in the way under the hood to just go on and remove it entirely. I think mine's still unscrewed but present. Been so long I don't even remember how I left it but either way it's effectively deactivated by being adjusted as rich as it will allow.
