I'm sure I'll need one for my TD.... I'll find one eventually. I can probably use it for something else then this car too.

Just for reference as it wouldn't be a permanent solution but; AutoZone has MityVacs in their free rental tool selection!

The Autozone here is on the other side of town, and they dont like to lend out their tools. I tried borrowing a breaker bar and wound up buying one since they were so hesitant...

As far as I know every AutoZone has a tool rental program, you tell them which tool you'd like to rent from the assortment which is usually pictured on a couple mats on the counter, they get you the tool, you pay a deposit equal to the purchase price of the tool, take the tool and use it, when you return it in undamaged condition they refund you the entire deposit = free tool rental.

I don't think they do individual hand tools like breakerbars, ratchets, wrenchs, screw drivers etc, the rental tool are along the line of specialty tools that the average DIY guy would likely only need once or twice.

I think Advanced Auto and Pep Boys might also have some rental tools available but I don't know if that includes a MityVac.
