Sticking lock on keyless entry system
Hey guys! I just nearly finished my keyless entry system courtesy of chad. I've worked out nearly every kink in the system, but there is one problem I am left with.
So here it goes Lets say that I try to lock and unlock the car with the door open. Obviously the system won't allow for that and it will remain unlocked. That is all fine and dandy and I know not to do that, however I want to avoid having a problem with people so here is what happens. After I close the door and lock it remotely the car will lock and the door handle will not be able to open the door When I go to unlock the car the golf tea will shot up and the car will appear unlocked however it won't. The lock mechanism will eventually make the "click" and the door will be able to be opened. The linkages are really tight and there is absolutely no further way to "push" it further up to unlock it. Is there some sort of lubricate I need to add to the lock? I would prefer to not have to tell people to not lock the car with the door open. Sure it's one of those "old car nuances" but I want to keep those to am minimum

I have the keyless entry in my W123 too, and if I lock the drivers door with the other door open it still locks that door, and unlocks when the drivers door unlocks again.
Must be something up with your linkages.

What I meant is when I accidentally lock/unlock the driver's side door while it is open. When I go and close the door and lock it, the lock will stick when I go to unlock the door. Eventually I will hear a "click" and the door will unlock. However I don't want eventually to turn into, "Hey adam I can't unlock your car."

The linkages are very tight. Any tighter and I won't be able to fit the entire thing back into the door
I actually believe the door mechanism needs to be lubicated. Basically I can watch this little lever come down. It just needs a little lube since it is just barely sticking. What is the MB recommended lubricate for the door assembly? The name of the assembly escapes me at the moment.

You should not be able to lock the drivers side door with it open. I can't on either of my MB's.

It's funny that you say that. I have my door panel back on and now the lock doesn't work
I'll deal with this later.
