My SD is dirt cheap to insure with Geico. Your best bet is just to jump online to different insurance sites and get instant quotes.

AAA seems to have really decent rates... but shop around. I also shop rates every year (which I think everyone should do btw). Keeps my agent's pencil sharp and keeps rates down.
Can't justify full coverage on 20+ year old vehicles so PLPD is fine for me. If you have an educator in the family check with MEEMIC, although AAA owns meemic now. Also, I don't drive all cars at the same time so I drop insurance if I plan not to use the vehicle for an extended period. I think the real question is managing the registration of all vehicles...

I have one of my cars off the road for the winter and my insurance company has a reduced rate for a car that they know will be in storage for three months of the year. They just want me to specify which three months it will not be driven. I believe it is not covered for collision during that time, but it is covered in case something happens to it, for example, if a tree fell on my garage and caused damage to my car.

A few years ago, the federal gov't allowed insurance companies to start using a kind of 'accident actuarial table' based on number of accidents where you live. I've had Geico since it was restricted to gov't employees and it was cheap where I was (living out in the middle of nowhere.) NOW, it's more - three cars, one bike, two drivers, zero points = just under $100/mo. Less if you pay every six months. BUT as sue crazy as immigrants into NC are (legal or otherwise) we have more than minimum liability.

It is not very expensive to raise the liability limit significantly. The first chunk cost the most by far.
If you carry a 300K policy on your cars, you can also get an umbrella policy for up to another million for very little money ($100/year or so). |

Insurance costs are such a b!tch.
They vary by age, location, and driving history. If you all don't mind me asking how old are you guys? I'm 20 and I pay out the nose for liability coverage (1000$/yr) through travelers. Probably doesn't help I got a speeding ticket 2 years ago in my old Honda.

I will chime in on this. I am 32. I have 4 early 80's vehicles insured with Geico. Perfect driving history. I pay 725 for the year for all 4. I may be able to get that lowered soon though because I moved to mass from RI almost 6 years ago now and in MA. you have to have 6 years of perfect driving before they will actually allow you the perfect drivers discount.

I'm in my late forties. I have never had any claim against a liability policy so far (knock on wood), haven't gotten a ticket in over 5 years, and that one was reduced to a non-moving violation. The last time I got points on my license was about 15 years ago.
In one more year, that speeding ticket shouldn't matter, and you can ask your agent to adjust your rate or shop for another policy elsewhere. |

Classic car insurance if your MB is for pleasure or leisure use... comp, coll, full coverage, you set the "agreed" value as well as other options, etc... etc... many out there are reputable. I use American Collector's (from NJ)... I have been to their office and have used them since early 90's on my GTOs, but there are others out there (Hagerty, Grundy, Barrett Jackson, and many more including the mainstream firms).
