I've been having some problems as of late with oil leaks on my car, I tracked it down the the oil return line for the turbo. I took it apart this last weekend and changed the o-rings, but also screwed up because I damaged the oil pan gasket... so I siliconed it up and drove the car to christmas at the folks house, but now I'm left with re-installing the oil pan, I read the DIY (
http://www.peachparts.com/Wikka/OM617TurboDrainTube) and I've decided that since I don't want to take the pan off again any time soon I should change out the check valve and the oil pump screen as shown in the DIY. I called the dealer for the parts that I could not locate online, and the price is pretty steep. $85 for crank case oil retun check valve (A6170180029), check valve retainer (N007346020001), and the oil pump pickup screen (A1101800355). I've check all the online parts houses Fastlane, AllParts Express, **********. and no one can get it. Called the local independant european parts supplier (world pac dealer) and they cannot get these parts. I can get all the rest of the parts including a new oil pan for less then $85! Is it time that I just buck up and buy the parts from the dealer? or does somone know where I can get these three parts online for a better deal?
