tranny problem

I have a 1983 300D turbo, automatic. When I put the car in drive or reverse it doesn't move right away, there is a long delay. I push the pedal and the engine just revs. When it does move, it moves slowly. Prior to this it was driving but had no power at all. I diagnosed it to be a vacuum issue.

I have replaced the engine vacuum lines and the 3/4 way T's. I also replaced the yellow check valve, the vacuum tranny damper/dashpot (000 304 02 34 green check valve), the vacuum central plug (it was dry rotted), and the 2/3 way valves and flippers on top of the valve cover under the black lid. I have a new tranny vacuum modulator but have not installed it.

Any thoughts?

Answer

Multiple issues are possible:
* Low transmission fluid ?
* Vacuum not reaching the modulator?
* Bad vacuum modulator?
* K1 springs bad ?
* B2 piston failure ?
* Damaged/mis-adjusted Bowden Cable ?
* Damaged clutch friction disc's ?

Why do you keep reposting this? You've already got answers in the other threads you started...your problem is likely the B3 piston for reverse, which is included in the links above. It may also be the B2 for forward motion, but you really need to begin troubleshooting. Check the fluid levels before anything.
