Trunk won't open

It is hard to move the key in the trunk but with a little wiggle I can get it to move in both directions. Neither direction will open the trunk though.

1. Which direction is to unlock the trunk and how far do you have to move it.
2. When they are hard to unluck are there any tricks to help out?

Thanks

Mine won't open without the key, just turn it counter clockwise about 1/3 of a turn, and push the button in.

True that you turn left and push in.

I prefer to leave mine set so that it locks/unlocks with vacuum.
Providing your vacuum module does not leak and system works.

There must be something wrong with my lock because it still wont open. My vacuum system is disabled since it was one of the sources of my car not shutting off. Maybe putting some vac on the line going back to the trunk would pop it open.

Yes, if you can find the line going to just it...and use a Mityvac on it you have a chance of opening it...

if infact the trunk is unlocked and you still cannot open it..an internal mechanism on the lock itself might have broken. My friend has a 300SE and I cant remember what it was called but it was something to do with the valet key that broke and wouldnt allow the mechanism to release the trunk lid...

He ended up taking it to a mechanic and they were able get it open somehow..

I had same issue with a past car of mine --- not the prostitute problem...although that does remind me of another situation, but no time for that right now...

I had to push down on the trunk lid, right above where lock mechanism is, while pushing the button in - Always worked for me...

you can bump the area to the left of right of the lock with a 4x4 post( cover the end to protect the paint).. bump the side and have someone lift up. works pretty well

I 'm hoping this will work. I will post the results. Thanks.

Here's the thing though....I havent opened the trunk since I bought the car a few weeks ago. There is a chance of a prostitute as I purchased the car in Nevada. I will report.

Nevada - oh no....Please let me know if she has a small tattoo of a loop style glow plug on the upper part of her left arm. Was your car advertised as "found in the desert, been sitting for a couple of years, very low mileage, needs good cleaning, all offers considered....??

Ok - enuff fun, union break is over...back to work guys!!
