300 SDL

Trying to pull the headlights out of the SDL, I found the two screws up top that hold it in, what am I missing? I'm trying to get down to see if it is worth fixing or not (remember it got backed into).

You will also Have to release the parking light/turn signal lens before the whole assembly will come out from my experience, unless you have a Euro type light, then I dont know the process on it.

when you remove the wiper arms pull out in a straight manner so to not chew up the notches.

But like Aqua said remove the flashing and you will find more mounting hardware and remove the marker light

IIRC, you need to remove the len's wiper blade. Remove the metal body strip ( 2" x 12" approx ) through which the wiper axle come out and you should be able to access the screws below the headlight. Also remove the indicator light.

oh one more thing....

the wiper motors are mounted to the light so some creative angle work will be needed to get them out or just remove them before taking the lights out.

I found this out while hunting for w126 euros and noticed that they kept getting hung up.

Thanks to all for the quick answers. will have to wait for it to quit snowing before I go at it again. So I pull the wipers straight out? And after that the flashing comes off? I found out that on the passenger side the bolt that holds the flashing on got bent around.

There's a screw on the inside of the flashing that you will have to remove as well... For that, you either have to crawl under the car, or remove the corner marker light... Can't remember which off hand right now.

Just remove the marker light and I think you can get to it.
