Spun Rod Bearing-606.910
Got the verdict from my mechanic: spun rod bearing. '95 E300D. Towed it back home. Now, decision time. Do I go for broke and pull the engine for rings & bearings, or just sell the car as is. Sure liked it--lots of new parts recently, drove great. But I don't know if I want to tackle this job by myself, outdoors. And I don't know a machine shop in Las Vegas I'd trust to do the work.

How about a used engine? Some important parts of your damaged engine are not going to re-buildable, most likely the crankshaft and almost certainly the con rod what spun a bearing. If this happened due to lack of oil there could be additional damage not yet discovered.

You need to find what caused the spun Bearing.
And, remove the Engine and take it apart to see what was damaged. I do not know if they re-grind Mercedes Crankshafts undersized or not. And, I do not know if the sell Bearing to match.
