Correct Injector Calibration

Im getting ready to pop test my injectors in my '92 300d. Can anybody tell me the psi they should be set at?

They are marked on the injector.

You don't want to go by that unless you can be 100% sure the injectors are original. Even then, the acceptable range is much greater than the figure stamped on the part. Furthermore, the figure on the injector is in bar, not psi.

Ehhh? You lost me on that one. Minimum accepted standards are 80% of the nozzle rating. Anything below that will not allow proper diffusion no matter how many of the shims you have removed to achieve the desired pressure.

Bar, PSI, if your gauge doesn't show both or you cant figure out the conversion then you shouldn't be checking the "pop" pressure anyway.

BAR to PSI conversion


Normally aspirated - 115 BAR
Turbo - new - 135 to 145 BAR provided the set, as a group, is within three BAR.
- used - 130 BAR absolute minimum, again within three.
Read up on the MANY posts and attachments regarding injector servicing (cleaning, proper torques, etc.)
