How to: clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder
My slave cylinder was leaking brake fluid so I'm replacing the master and slave cylinders.
How do I do it? |

Uh...do you have a manual? Just remove and replace. Then do a search on bleeding...there's the rub.

Actually the reason I'm posting on here is because I don't have a manual. I've caught bits and pieces about lining up the clutch or something with the cylinder?
As far as I know all I do is this: 1. Bleed the system 2. Take the cylinders off and put the new ones on Is that really all there is to it? I just want to be thorough here and I don't want to miss something important. |

You bleed it afterwards, I'm not familiar with the M.C., but I know that's where you have to line up the rod or something. Do a search. For slave, two 13mm and the 12mm pipe connector on top. Make sure the piston is seated correctly on the fork inside the bell housing (just do it by feel).

trouble with removing master cylinder
I've been out here all day trying to get this damn thing off...
I finally removed all of the bolts and the screw at the bottom of the master cylinder. The hose is off as well. I can't seem to get it out because the loop coming out of the top of the cylinder is around a bolt and is stuck. The bolt looks like it holds the clutch pedal in place but I can't really tell. It's a really tight space in there. I feel like this shouldn't be this difficult. Am I doing something wrong? |

The "loop" shouldn't hold it in, it's not attached. Though it probably will keep the cylinder from moving side to side, since it has to come straight out. Feel free to remove the bolt, it just connects the pedal to the cylinder, the pedal itself is anchored elsewhere.

I took some pictures of a spare set of peddles I have.
there is a large bolt that connects the rod to the clutch peddle arm. also the bolt fits into a bushing that is off center. It is an adjustment for the rod length. You might be able to remove the 2 bolts that holds the master cylinder to the peddle assembly, and pull down. the rod should pull out of the rubber boot. I haven`t replaced a master cylinder. when I did mine I was doing a 4-spd swap. I bolted the MC to the assembly, then bolted the peddles in. when I attached the supply hose to the MC from the brake MC reservor, I had about a foot and 1/2 of hose. this made it easier than fighting a short piece that was just long enough to reach both ends. Maybe the "loop" you are talking about is the supply hose from the reservoir (6 o'clock in Charmalu's first picture)?
There's a hose leading through the firewall up to the (common) brake fluid reservoir. You need to pull that off at either end ( empty the fluid first). Or is the "loop" the plunger coming down from the clutch pedal (9 o'clock in Charmalu's first picture)? You can either remove the bolt that holds it to the pedal or pull down the MC and it should just stay there. The hardest part is just seeing what it is that you are doing in a very confined space....
