'80 240D Master Clutch Cylinder Question
Having a problem getting the intake hose to attach to the side of the master cylinder. The intake hose is the hose coming from the resevoir.
Does it just shove on there? There doesn't seem to be enough room to get up in there and muscle it on- it's like the hose and the place the hose goes onto the cylinder are the same size. Any trick to getting this on there properly? Please help. Thanks.

I used a dab of the white grease you assemble engines with. It slipped right on. These hoses are supposed to work like chinese finger locks the harder you pull the tighter they get . At least thats what I was told. This is the reason for no clamps
Be careful not to stress the little elbow exiting the master cylinder I did on my new one and lost all my fluid. Had to reuse my old one . The newer ones seem more brittle. cheaper made Good luck
