Help! I've got this part left over!

I just finished my first valve adjustment on my son's 123 and realized I had this keeper left over. Where did I forget to put it? Please tell me I don't have to take it all apart again.

TIA

I think somewhere on the throttle linkage. Possibly the connecting rod from the firewall. I'll check mine later.

Cotter pin, probably from the throttle linkage. I bet it's from the rubber bushing on the firewall.

I figured it was from the linkage somewhere. I thought that was where it might go, that was the only place I could find with an empty hole. I just don't remember taking it off there though. But I did take it apart about two weeks ago....

Thanks for the help.

Definitely from the throttle arm / accelerator pivot junction on the firewall, like everyone already said. You don't need to take anything apart, but you do need to put it back.

That'a an extra piece. Mercedes are designed so reliable, they provide extra pieces that you only find when you work on your car,,,

No, it isn't. A cotter pin is a straight piece that is split in half, so you can spread them apart after you get it installed. Not a Webster's definition, but you should be able to get the drift from that.

A cotter pin is what you use when you have lost the hitch pin, although I believe Mercedes might call it a cotter pin,,,

Is is interesting that Mercedes apparently did not embrace the use of Cotter pins.
