MZB 1983 300SD glow plug light problem

Hi,
I'm a "newbie" to this forum. What a great resource!

I need help to fix an intermittent Glow Plug indicator light.
When turning the ignition on, the light is constant and goes off when the car starts and the relay clicks off, but then it periodically flashed on and off randomly. One time it stayed on for a minute or two, then started flashing. Any help out there?

Check out your whole glow plug system including plugs and relay. Dieselgiant has a good tutorial on his website. Could be some bad plugs or a quirky relay.

Thanks...could it be some kind of short, either in the idiot light or elsewhere? The only confusion is when the ignition is on and the glow plugs are heating, the light is on constantly???

The light is controlled and powered by the solid state portion of the relay/timer assembly. In all probability, that is where your problem resides.
