With a little more tightening of the Bowden cable to make it in perfect harmony with the throttle movement it shifts way better and is less of a dog. It was shifting all gears at 27 mph. Now under normal acceleration I get 2nd at 20 mph or so, third a 27 (still too close) and fourth at 55 or so. Under WOT they are all longer shifts than that. The car acts much better now. Still a good 15-16 sec or so to 60 mph! My IP, ALDA, idle sensor etc is all new and bench tested so I don't want to mess with the ALDA.
Any other ideas.

It probably doesn't help that the front rotors are warpped and rub on every revolution and all the windows were down (no A/C)...and 95 degree humid air outside. Cold dense air would help some too I think
Maybe downhill and the wind to my back, it will go

check your boost lines, they tend to get clogged with soot n debris, a full boost signal may not be getting through as was the case on mine

Cleaned it up and had good boost as noted in post#71. Had 10-11 psi at WOT. Partial throttle hovered in the 5psi range. Boost doesn't seem to be the issue, unless it needs more? But from what I have seen 11 psi is good. For the first two seconds off the line it's a dog. Once boost and momentum start going it takes off.

On a side note -I barely bought enough vac line and zip-tied the guage to the mirror adjuster

Is there any black smoke at high RPM full-throttle? If so, turbo or air filter would be suspect, if not then fuel filters/supply can be suspect, don't forget about exhaust restrictions either.

The slow take-off still sounds like ALDA. Is there any visible smoke for the first car-length at full-throttle?

There IS black smoke at WOT (or when it kicks down), and when taking off full throttle- for a second or two. It sounds like I have rich enough fuel, maybe I will replace the air filter. It didn't seem that bad looking though. I guess looks can be deceiving. Maybe I will make some runs with out an air filter to test it??
I think I need someone who knows these cars, to drive mine and see if it is okay or not.
