Is it hard to remove the front balancer300sd

I think the front seal on my 1984 300 sd is leaking, is it hard to pull off the front balancer? Do I need special tools? Also I want to remove the injectors. Any special tools for this. I am new to diesels.

You can pull it with a generic balancer puller. Pulling is easy; reinstalling is a different matter entirely.

Yes, it is hard.

For my car:

You need a really big torque wrench.
And you need a special tool to hold the flywheel / crankshaft.
Lifting the car is necessary to get at it, without pulling the rad.
You'll need the front seal gasket, and get the hub too. It's probably got a groove worn in it that will leak even with a new gasket.

Not that hard, hardest part is reinstalling and aligning dowel pins.

Do a search, read the posts

If you don't get it together correctly you can waste an engine

Also if the seal isn't seated properly, the engine will start to puke oil again, i had to buy three metric bolts for the puller. Be careful when removing the 6 hex bolts also, not fun if rounded.
New front seal, spacer ring required, you can use an extension in between the balancer and the block.
