More Grunt?

I def dont think that grunt is needed when you have over 15 forward gears, and ten reverese gears ( I can't remeber the exact amounts). I think that in its lowest gear, most unimogs can achieve over 100:1. In a situation like that, horsepower doesnt matter.

Those rotary pumps are very common on European motors even the Russians used them. They are originally CAV I think.
The rocker cover appears to be alloy, all the 6-354's I have ever seen had pressed tin lids.
The 6-354 had all sorts of manifold variations. You may see mine has IH on it. Its in a Ford F750.
That oil filler/dipstick is not like my 6-354.

It could be some version of a 6-354 or a copy, I cant make out much from his additional pics.
If he finds the engine number it will be a no brainer, 6 354 xxxxxxxx is a perkins.
If it is, unless it has had a diff change, it will have a slow top speed. they only rev to about 2,500 rpm. They have plenty of torque, mine pulls from near idle in any gear.

Kerry,
I just rang a friend who deals in Belarus tractors. He thinks it could be a 6-354 look a like made in Poland or Chec under license to perkins, there were a lot of motors like that about. it could be an English perkins as well.
The inter trucks here in Australia also came out with a German copy of the perkins , it was called a nois (wrong spelling), it could be one of them.

Someone posted more pictures of 6-354's on the Benzworld thread. A couple of them have the stamped steel 'segmented' valve cover like I have on the Perkins 4-108 in my Bluebird. But one of the pictures seems to show a thicker alloy valve cover similar to the motor in the Unimog.
