That could be the elusive M Pump. I'd grab it.

M pumps are easy to spot. The delivery valve holders are splined shafts rather than flanged and held down with 2 bolts each.

From what I have read on this Forum what makes the M Pump special is that it can be modified with Different Elements to put out more Fuel quanity then is available in the MW Pump.

Otherwise for regular usage I have not read that there is any special benefit to having one.
In fact since it has the Splined Delivery Valve Holders and needs O-ring seals I am thinking that the MW Pump that does not have the O-ring seals would be more durable in normal use.
But, I would like to know more about the M Pumps also as my info is 2nd hand.

I don't think the pump itself would be worth a whole lot more than a normal one.....since it is a relatively small part of the $$ in having one modified.

now, why would MB put the 'smoother running' pumps in the cars that never received cigar hoses???

better design.... ? how so?

your one-liners leave much to be desired; we're a curious bunch.

It provides a little more fuel with some adjustments - be careful about idle and run-away. If you add more air, then more power, if you are not adding more air, i.e. bigger turbo, supercharger+turbo, or other means then it is no use to you.

I have one and I am having 7.5mm elements installed and tuned. I will let let you know the results when I get it back.

Isn't the M-series pump simply the OM60x IP?

I haven't noticed anything "special" about my "M" pump except its more difficult to do the delivery valve seals, and as far as modifieing it ..I could send it to Finland and for a bunch of $, make my 240 go faster, yah It doesn't run any "smoother" than the US version....

easier adjustment???? What adjustment would that be?
