Steering Box-Arm Connection

I'm not really sure what I am looking at, but it looks like the arm that attaches the steering box to the rest of the steering linkages. There are splines exposed. I have not touched it, just noticed it today. There's no corrosion, and it doesn't look like it has moved recently. No steering issues to speak of. Is this normal?

That would be the Pitman Arm. That is normal. That is a "taper" fit.
