Pulling 601 Timing Cover - Must Remove IP?
Sorry,
A fairly thorough search did not yield the info I was looking for. Is there a way to pull the timing cover off of a 601 and not lose the injection timing? I know there are three main bolts that hold the IP onto the block/TC. I am concerned about taking off the bolts and the IP will be flopping in the breeze only held on by the timing device center reverse-thread bolt (and chain). FSM as always is a tad bit ambiguous. I am in the middle of it, so any help w/b appreciated. Thanks! - geoff |

Arrows mark the visible bolts from side and front....appear to be the only bolts holding the IP in. I think I will rig up something to keep the pump stable while I remove the timing cover.
