I think the alarm is stuck on all the time and that is what is draining my battery. Any help would be great.

Mine went off on the 85SD and I just unplugged it. Still haven't looked to find reason for malfunction. SD alarm is located under the passenger floor carpet.

In the 123's the alarm relay is a black plastic plug-in about the size of a circuit breaker in your house electrical breaker box. It's under the dash in the driver's footwell. When you locate it, just unplug it, nothing else is dependent on it being plugged in.
I removed Elvira's about 20 years ago, when the alarm wouldn't always shut off by unlocking the door.

Helpful Thread - silence is golden

Thanks 123 for posting this thread. My alarm went off when I was 1hr away from home. So if you could imagine how annoying it was to drive home with the alarm going off and on. I was ready to take it in the shop. With process of elimination I was able to find plug for the alarm on my 1985 300D. As 123 said, it is under the dashboard panel on driver side, just above where your left knee would be if you are sitting in driver seat. Unpluging the alarm did not effect anything else. The plug was on there pretty good so I had to give it a good tug. I took digital pictures of where it is at and what it looks like, so if you need the visual let me know. Im new to this site so Im not sure how to upload pictures here or the best way to notify me.

I had an alarm problem a few months ago. The good folks here gave me a tip - put put the key in door and hold it in each position ( locked / unlocked ) for about 5 seconds. Worked for me.

Hi Ryan, so the key technique is an alternative to unpluging the whole alarm system?

Can someone please help me locate the relay for disabling the alarm?

I have read several posts in this forum, and all have conflicting locations on where the relay is for disabling the factory alarm. I am attempting to disable the factory alarm on a 1984 300d. Is it under the drivers side dash all the way on the left? In the drivers side footwell? Under the rear seat? I am randomly pulling relays going out of my mind any help would he appreciated. Thanks.

The factory-installed alarm on my 1985 300CD-T has been malfunctioning and the problem appears to be failure of the alarm switch assembly at the driver's side exterior door lock-handle.

I needed a way to disconnect the alarm so that I can drive the car until I solve the problem. Searching the archives here helped me to locate the 14-pin alarm relay and disconnect it. I have taken two pictures (attached) for anyone trying to find this relay on a similar W123 M-B.

Thank you guys SO MUCH! Yesterday I was pulling off the door panels to fix some door rust with miracle paint and suddenly the horns started honking which eventually quit when I closed the door. I must have an alarm system! I looked for one but had no luck until I saw this post. Fixed. Thank you. I also have a trumk that wont open and saw the bamboo trick. I pulled off the emergency medical kit and looked in the trunk and saw the plastic panel had already been removed. Previous owner must have had the same problem. I think I will rig a cable to the lock mechanism. would be a simple fix. I have already rigged a backup cable to the hood release.
