CLR to flush radiator?

time to change the antifreeze, been reading these two threads:

http://www.merkurencyclopedia.com/Cooling_System/cooling_sys_clean.html

and....

http://www.gadgetjq.com/coolant_replacement.htm

question: has anyone used the CLR with hot boiling water to flush a radiator? if so, did you first remove the radiator as the poster states and slosh the solution around, then drain? thanks for any input, I had never
heard of anyone using CLR before but it sounds like a viable idea......

Never tried it but thought about it. Don't see why it wouldn't work.

I definitely wouldn't use it. The biggest reason is it also can attack different metals, and plastics, in the cooling system. Why not use the MB recommended flush agent............citric acid? It's readily available at many pharmacies and places that carry canning supplies have been mentioned also. Many of these home remedies/short cuts can ruin an engine in a matter of minutes.
