Smile Acc linkage problem...I think

I have been working on a hitch in my accelerator linkage. You can feel it driving under the pedal. Lubed the joints and when I isolate the rod going down behind the pump it seems to have drag in it. I believe it may be what is called the "rack". Can that be treated successfully with fuel additives? It seems to affect the shift, acceleration, etc. Any comment would be appreciated.

Maybe someone can also help me find answers to this post. As long as I've been coming here that has always been a problem. I think my email is posted somewhere.

Smile Sorry

I forgot to mention that this is a 616 engine in a 123 car. Thanks.

Do you feel this "drag" when you manually operate the mechanism from under the hood?

Verify that the device on the firewall that connects the accelerator pedal linkage to the on engine linkage is not defective. It can have a degraded hard rubber core and/or a degraded plastic ball inside the firewall mount.
