wagon calipers

Are all w123 rear calipers the same? From 240TD/230TE to 280TE and 300TD are they interchangable?

Should be able to figure it out by searching for both in Fastlane and seeing if the part numbers are the same.

Ahhh but Fastlane and other world pac sellers do not list euro models like the 230TE/280TE/240TD.

300TD right rear part # is W0133-1715902
drivers rear is W0133-1715901

A wagon has slightly larger diameter pucks in the rear calipers but uses the same pads as sedan. They are completely interchangible but you will lose a bit of braking.

I recommend a vented rotor upgrade on the heavier wagons. (for the front)

I have a set of Gen II w126 calipers/rotors up front. I have a 230TE here to pull parts from. I still have no yes/no info as to interchanginablity. Hence, the OP. Anyone?

nobody here is gonna know for positive and for sure, but I say yes, a wagon rear caliper is oversized for the weight carrying ability. so any wagon, regardless of it's powerplant from MB should be the same caliper in the same chassis.

to be sure though, measure the diameter and the thickness of the rotor.

Wait...you HAVE a W123 bodied 230TE parts car with the rear calipers on it...in front of you...that you can take off...and examine for comparison?

Perhaps the best way to get a definitive answer is to remove one and compare. Oh, if the caliper has been sitting for awhile get a rebuild kit.

According to the US epc, the wagons, 280 TE and 300 TD have the same part number, don't know about Euros.

Rear Calipers are different on Wagons...

Larger pistons, --Not by much, a couple of mm....

I believe the Front are the same....

I'd like to avoid pulling the 230TE calipers and having a side by side if I can find out in advance.
