I got my first 300TD.......

I have been looking for a 300TD for some time now. I finally found one. Drove it about 160 miles back home, drives very well, Needs lots of TLC.
I started my project today by cleaning the engine, diesel purge, fuel filters change and had time to change the oil as well. Tomorrow I am installing the fast glow plugs kit and if I have time I'll start working on some of the interior stuff (driver side door handle, instrument cluster lights etc...). I have noticed a small fuel leak near the primer pump from the line that goes to the fuel filter (see pictures).

Here are some pictures and I also have a small video of the engine running, tell me if you think that I should change the injectors...

Thanks

1980 300TD non turbo
came from europe
The car has 350k miles, engine and transmission about 200k mi.

I could not View your video, my computer struggles with any of them.. however I saw your pictures, what an interesting wagon, I dont think I've seen a Climate control like it before, but then again I've never seen an early 80's wagon in person, a thought on the injectors, if they have over 100,000 miles on them I would consider replacing/rebuilding them, you can cure a lot of headaches with one simple change, but then again I would make sure first, when I get to a decent computer I look forward to Viewing your video, I'll be interested to see how the non turbo's run

Does sound a bit loud, adjust the valves and maybe have the injectors tested.

Appears to be a Euro version, replete with "M" IP. Very nice. Watch the rust on those. The Euro's weren't rust treated as well as US versions.....

Took the words out of my mouth. A Euro wagon with an M pump. You've got yourself a gem there. Nice Find!

Actually, the best part of that wagon is the manual AC controls. Hands down. And the Euro bumpers for the folks that like those. I like Euro or Fed on those. Cool seating surfaces too, and door panels. hard to match a replacement on that driver's seat.

I'm suprised Jimmy did not catch the badge of truth not telling the truth...Shows turbo diesel, but I did not see a turbo charged engine....

Nice euro car though!

You can tell that there are several areas of that car that have been replaced. Take the driver's front 1/4 panel. Probably a donor rear hatch, which implies the old one either rusted or was hit.

Neat wagon. Interior looks pretty good save for the driver seat. I like the euro black trim with the blue dash on the w123s. I'm surprised to not seat shoulder belts in the back.
