did you ever figure out what was causing the knock? your engine sounds
EXACTLY like mine (617) after installing new Monark nozzles, new valve stem seals, new valve springs and new locking cap nuts. I'm still chasing the problem..... |

i pulled the cam and inspected the cam towers, lobes, springs, and valve nuts for wear or breakage. it looked just as good as it did when it was brand new. i adjusted the valves again and put the cam cover back on. the noise is still there at idle. i was told that it might be carbon buildup in the pre-chamber not allowing optimal atomization of fuel. the car is a screamer. very fast. does not burn or leak oil and it has amazing power. so i am at a loss.

It is not carbon buildup in the prechamber if the knock is still there with the injector disabled. I think you knew that but just in case.

You are right. Still uncertain on noise. I had a friend tell me that it might be coming from the alternator.
