Need help identifying this part. 300TD 1980 euro
 

I want to replace the rubber connector of the vacuum line (see pix). The rubber connector is actually in part inside the metal unit (side of IP).

The black vacuum line goes through the fire wall, I have not had time to see where it goes from there.

Could you help identifying this part so I can look for a replacement if possible.

I have no idea what that part is. However, on other 123 models, I believe the black vacuum line is only a vent. If that is the case with yours, it doesn't seem that it's worth worrying about.
That part is in a similar location to the transmission vacuum control valve on US models of some 123's.

Yup, I know that part....

As illustrated previously, It Appears to be a vent to atmosphere

The device its attached to is the VCV which controlls the vac supply to the Trans. Modulator...:)

I'm not sure if this rubber part is available as a separate item....:rolleyes:

Welcome to the world of owning a euro car in the US, it's gonna be hard to find certain parts. And that's going to be one of them. I too believe that is a vent. To check, pull the under dash panel on the drivers side and look for a black line that isn't connected to anything. Wiggle the one in the engine bay to confirm that they are indeed the same line. If this is the case I wouldn't worry about changing the connector. If not they it's time for more searching.

Welcome. Join the European EPC for a nominal annual fee (U.S. version is free so join it as well). You can look up the part number and then do one of two things: find out if and where you can order the part; or, see if there is a cross-reference part number with a U.S. piece.

Also, you can always just duct tape it:D

I should be able to investigate some more today.

I am guessing now but would the only reason for a vent line line to go through the fire wall would be to provide clean cabin venting air?

Being a Euro, that is an "M" pump you have. the U.S. models came with the "MW" IP.
Not a lot of the "M" IP`s around.

I discovered that the vacuum line goes through the fire wall and is not connected to anything as suggested by some on this thread.

So, duct tape it is.....

I'd use quick set epoxy.

I was at my indys yesterday, and there was a 126 350 with the hood up. looks like the IP is a "M" type pump. looks like the one you have in your picture. the part you are looking for might be the same used on that engine.
